Here is an abbreviated syllabus for the Sport Career Transition course we teach to UF student-athletes.

Experiential activities may include job shadowing, informational interviews, on and off campus exploratory activities, career fair participation, networking events, and career documents (e.g., resume, cover letter, elevator pitches, etc...).

In-class activities may include self-awareness exercises, strengths assessment, journaling, awareness of mental health issues, future self planning, career exploration activities, transferable skills reflections, and career planning exercises.

As part of the course assessment, we determine their identity status via interviews and assess their career exploration, commitment to a career plan, career decision-making self-efficacy, locus of control toward career planning, and athletic identity at the beginning and end of the course.
