Invited Research Talk at The University of Texas at Austin
Dr. Wendling was invited to do a research talk at The University of Texas at Austin on Thursday, March 5, 2020. She will share her current research projects that investigate career identity development and the transition to life after sport. In this presentation, she will discuss the importance of developing a career identity once NCAA college athletes leave the high-level competitive sport landscape as well as the validation of the Career Identity Development Inventory (CIDI). In addition, she will provide an assessment of the career identity status of 524 former NCAA student-athletes and an explanation of how these statuses influenced their career and psychosocial functioning post-college sport life. She will conclude her talk with an application of this work via the evaluation of the sport career transition course offered to junior and senior Gator athletes at the University of Florida.
